Look! Another click bait article about JUUL Vapes!

Everywhere I look it's JUUL this and JUUL that! I can't take it anymore! We get it, JUUL captivated an audience and unfortunately, the vocal ones are young adults. Every news organization around the world is getting on the hype train; from the oh so trustworthy Mashable to the more structured The Economist.
I don't understand people's obsession with this "epidemic" that they call it. I personally don't consider a product that is up to 95% less harmful than smoking (According to Public Health England) and helps smokers transition away from cigarettes to be an epidemic regardless of how it is used. Yes, it is bad (and illegal) for kids to be Juuling or vaping, but does that mean we call it the health problem of the decade? (thanks CNN).
I'm so tired of this being talked about. Nothing new has arisen since the first story about JUUL's popularity spiked last year. Everyone keeps harping on about middle and high schoolers vaping on JUUL pens. It is a problem, no kid should be doing it, but I don't get why talking about it in 20 different blog posts about EVERY aspect of the JUUL from the popularity of it all the way down to that it's inconspicuously shaped like a jump drive is helping anything.
But you know why it's still being talked about? because everyone loves to talk about how vaping is bad for you. How it's just as bad as cigarettes and the rise in young adults vaping is an epidemic that's going to spiral out of control. Even though the introduction to vaping, we have seen a decrease in young adult use in cigarette products. I'm not saying young adult vape use is a good thing, there's a reason it's illegal for someone younger than 18, or 21 in some states and counties, to purchase the products. Nicotine is highly addictive, no young adult should use it, but the fact of the matter is is that they are using them and we need to deal with it in a rational way that decreases the use among young adults without restricting availability to adults looking for an alternative to smoking.
It's just a bunch of news agencies looking for another click bait article to trick your 60 year old grandma into thinking that vapes are the devil and pose no benefit at all! Just for once I'd like to see an article NOT by a vaping advocacy news agency that talks about vaping and e-cigarettes in a positive light. (Spoiler alert: I haven't found one yet)
It astounds me that so many people advocate for anti-vaping and have no idea about the facts that back it up. Is anyone else annoyed and tired of hearing about the JUUL? I mean, JUUL Labs themselves is taking precautions like only selling to people 21 or older on their site (they aren't forced to do this) and withdrawing their products from stores that get busted for selling to minors. Yet, organizations still attack JUUL. Why? They are a business, their goal is to make money and provide their base with a solid, quality product. They never advertised to young adults nor have they ever made it easy for young adults to purchase the product and yet JUUL is still being attacked by the FDA and assorted anti-vape advocacy groups.
Let me know in the comments below what you think about this whole JUUL thing. Are you tired of hearing about it too?
