Just in! Hot off the press! The FDA make a statement I agree with!
This was pretty refreshing to see from the FDA today. A recent press release about ceasing the sales of e-liquids with labeling or advertising that resembled kid-friendly foods stated something very interesting.
FDA commissioner Scott Gottlieb stated, "Even as we encourage the innovation of novel and potentially less harmful products such as e-cigarettes for currently addicted adult smokers, we're committed to holding industry accountable to ensure these products aren't being marketed to, sold to, or used by kids."
For those who might not have caught it, the FDA commissioner just stated that e-cigarettes are potentially less harmful products compared to cigarettes. This is great news! It may have been in passing but hearing the commissioner say this makes me happy moving forward. I'm curious to see what will happen moving forward.
The FDA May Actually Like the Vaping Industry
The FDA has always had the vaping industry's number. Shutting things down and restricting our industry. But this was a move in the right direction. They have not made the best decisions in the world. I'm still waiting for them to come out and say, "Hah! I'm just playin'. You ain't gotta put those nasty ass warning labels on your products and advertising." but I digress.
The rest of the warning letter goes over a bunch of stuff regarding e-liquid companies making their bottles and packaging look like kid-friendly products. Which is stupid on their part. But I will dive deeper into that story at a later date.
Anyway, have a little optimism moving forward knowing that there is a little light at the end of the tunnel. Although, now that I've said something, I'm probably gonna jinx it. Let's hope not!
