The vaping industry is saturated with keyboard warriors who think they know everything there is to know about vape and the vaping industry. Well, they don't, take it from me, Chuck, the expert on all things vaping related. I'm here to expel all ridiculous myths that thousands of idiots believe.
"vaping is as bad or worse than cigarettes"
Let's just go straight to the meat and potatoes of this list. The big one that everyone uses as their reason for never trying vaping or considering vaping as an alternative to smoking. Anti-vaping activists love this excuse as well. Most people who believe this might also think the Earth is flat, CNN is honest and unbiased, and the Nigerian Prince really is in trouble and needs your money.
Public Health England in 2015 released a study stating that electronic cigarettes are at least 95% less harmful than cigarettes. This study alone should shut them up, but if it doesn't. I recommend you just stop talking to that person. You aren't getting through to them.
"Vaping stains my teeth"
I've heard this more than I'd care to admit. I understand that people believe this because cigarettes can stain teeth but when you add logic and the fact that vaping is just that, vapor. Water vapor is being exhaled, what makes you think it'll stain your teeth? Also, when you vape dark e juice, is your vapor darker colored? No. Why? Because it's vapor and water vapor is colorless. God, I shouldn't be so agitated about this but people seriously need to think with their brain sometimes!
"Vaping e cigs can get you high"
Come now, child. You mustn't be so silly. That "high" feeling you're getting is from the nicotine, if you are vaping e liquid that has nicotine in it. It also called a nicotine buzz and if you're feeling that all the time, that's a problem. That means you're vaping too high of a nic level and you should pump the brakes a little. Or don't. I mean, I'm not your life coach.
"You don't know what kind of crap they are putting in those vape juices"
You're kidding right? Vape juice is no different in how they label than any other company that has ingredients in their product.
Responsible e juice companies (like mine!) have an ingredients list on their labels. Most e juice contains Vegetable Glycerin, Propylene Glycol, artificial flavoring, and nicotine (unless it's 0mg e liquid). If you are vaping on some juice that tastes nasty, check the label and see what they put in their e liquid. If they don't state what their ingredients are, you may want to find a new e juice, like mine.
"But you're vaping formaldehyde!"
"Oh my god! What?!"
"We are? That's terrible! Where did you hear that?"
"Oh, from the New England Journal of Medicine. That sounds like a credible study, let me take a look at it..."
"Oh, what's this? They used machines that exaggerated and simulated extreme cases of vaping at temperatures no normal human being would vape at? That's interesting..."
Yeah, they found that vaping at extremely high temperatures, which would also cause the worst dry hit known to man, causes you to inhale small portion of formaldehyde. But on top of the biased study, the levels of formaldehyde were pretty low. So as long as you don't vape at 1000 degrees Celsius, you should be fine.
"Well, nicotine causes cancer. So it's still bad"
I wonder how many organizations need to publish studies and reports stating that nicotine is NOT a carcinogen and have found NO link between nicotine and cancer for people to understand. Meaning, chemicals that aren't nicotine cause cancer in smokers. Nicotine isn't as harmful as you think. While it is addictive, so is drinking 20 cups of coffee a day. The caffeine from those 20 cups is just as harmful as nicotine is anyway.
There are tons of other myths I could debunk in this article but some are just over the top. I once heard someone say, "vaping dessert vapes will get me fat." like what?! How in the hell does that make any sense???
Anyway, I hope you enjoyed. Be sure to share this on Facebook and keep these in your back pocket when one of those "special kinds of stupid" decides to try using one of these excuses for why vaping is bad.
